An informative frequency band identification framework for gearbox fault diagnosis under time-varying operating conditions

The application of informative frequency band identification methods makes it possible to enhance weak damage components in the vibration signals acquired from rotating machines. Some machines (e.g. wind turbines) operate inherently under time-varying operating conditions, however, very few have been developed with varying conditions mind. Therefore, this work, a systematic framework for obtaining consistent feature planes is proposed. This utilises angle-frequency instantaneous power spectrum and order-frequency cyclic modulation construct planes. kurtogram, sparsogram, infogram, ICS2gram log-cycligram are obtained on numerical experimental datasets using framework. In addition this, we also implement Informative Frequency Band Identification method targeted orders, abbreviated IFBI?gram, compare performance against other methods. Ultimately, found that used construction IFBI?gram well-suited gear bearing fault diagnosis conditions.
